Holidays are all about traditions; traditions that you had as a child and new traditions that you hope will last generations. As a child we had many things that we did every single year. Most have morphed into something else or are no longer done, but one remains unchanged. This year will be 48 years, yes years, of pictures with Santa. A tradition that was started by my Grandma and one I hope will continue for many, many more generations.
Not only do we get pictures with Santa every year, we also go to the same photographer, Arthur & Associates. Arthur & Associates has been in the Santa photography business since 1943. Started in Seattle by a local newspaper photographer, Arthur & Associates began in the old Frederick & Nelson Department Store and now provides both Santa and Easter Bunny photos in several locations in the Puget Sound area. Arthur and Associates has a special place in my heart, not only because we have been going to them for almost 50 years, but because my Grandma worked there for many, many years. She made sure everyone got their photos, you know before digital downloads were a thing. It is a family run business and my Grandma was always included in that family as well as many other men and women. I even stuffed a few envelopes from time to time.
