A Northwest tradition since 1949, the Argosy Cruises Christmas Ship™ Festival is beginning this week and will be in the Ballard area on December 15th. The Spirit of Seattle, the Official Christmas Ship™ will be decorated with hundreds of shimmery white lights and have choirs on board performing to guests aboard as well as to their Follow Boats and to those communities gathered on shore.
On December 15th the boat will leave from Shilshole Bay Marina for two different sailings around the area. From 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm the boats will head down the locks for their first performance at 3:10pm and then up to Golden Gardens park for a second performance at 3:50pm.
The second sailing will run from 7:00pm - 9:20pm. Departing from Shilshole Bay Marina and up to Carkeek park for the first performance of the night at 7:30pm. The second performance of the evening will be at Blue Ridge at 8:00pm, and then a third performance will happen at Shilshole Bay Marina at 8:40 pm.
The Ballard and Loyal Heights Community Centers will also be hosting an event at the locks to celebrate the ships arrival and the beautiful songs of the holiday. For more information on that click here.
