5 Great Parks and Playgrounds in NW Seattle

We are lucky in NW Seattle to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, NW Seattle parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new! friends), and they're FREE!

I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in NW Seattle.


CARKEEK PARK

What we love about Carkeek Park: 

Carkeek has so many different activities that the whole family can enjoy.  Several playgrounds including a really cool salmon slide, hiking trails, and a beautiful beach to explore to name just a few.

Salmon Bay Park

What we love about Salmon Bay Park: 

Salmon Bay Park is a wonderful community park that has play areas for all ages.  Baby swings, a sandbox for the toddlers, and a zipline for the older kids.

Licton Springs Park

What we love about Licton Springs Park: 

Renovated in 2016 this park has several play areas; something for every age group.  Need to really get some energy out?  Licton Springs Park also has several winding paths through wooded preserves.

Northacres Park

What we love about Northacres Park: 

Set back in the trees Northacres park has separate play areas for toddlers and older kids.  Northacres also has a spray park, hiking trails, and 2 ball fields.

Ballard Commons Park

What we love about Ballard Commons Park: 

Ballard Commons Park features a skate bowl, a spray park and some great grassy area ready for a picnic.
